Rajendra Prasad
Rajendra Prasad was one of India’s greatest social leaders and freedom fighters. Born on December 3, 1884 in Ziradei, Bihar, Prasad was a major contributor to the Indian freedom struggle. Prasad was a part of Mahatma Gandhi’s non-cooperation movement and supported the boycott of foreign goods. He was a great supporter of the Hindu-Muslim unity and took part in the Calcutta Flag Satyagraha in 1922.
Rajendra Prasad was a great scholar who after completing his studies in Patna pursued his Masters in Economics from the University of Calcutta. He was appointed as the President of the Indian National Congress in 1934 and continued to be in the organization for a number of years. Prasad also held the post of Union Minister from 1936 to 1942.
